A bright white dial, a toothed steel bezel and a case just over 34 mm wide: this Sea Wolf is a small, easy diver that looks just as right at a seaside café as it does at a desk.
What it is
This is a Zodiac Sea Wolf Professional, reference 513.55.47. The dial reads “Zodiac Automatic”, “Sea Wolf professional 200 meters” and “Swiss Made”, and the caseback is engraved “Automatic”, “Water resistant 200 m tested”, “Stainless steel”, “Swiss Made” and the reference number 513.55.47.

- Reference: 513.55.47 (engraved on the caseback)
- Winding: automatic (dial and caseback)
- Water resistance: 200 m as marked on the dial and caseback (see the condition notes below)
- Case and bracelet: stainless steel (caseback engraving)
- Case width: about 34.4 mm without the crown (measured)
- Thickness: about 9.9 mm (measured)
- Bracelet width: about 16 mm (measured)
- Date: window at 3 o’clock

Three things we like about it
1. The clean white dial
The dial keeps things simple: round markers, batons at 6 and 9, a triangle at 12 and a date window at 3. A single small blue dot on the lower right is the only splash of color. The markers and hands have aged to a soft cream tone, which gives the dial a gentle, vintage feel.

2. The toothed bezel and the signed crown
The steel bezel carries a 60-minute scale with a triangle at zero, and its edge is cut with deep teeth. Our listing described it as a rotating bezel. The crown is signed with the Zodiac emblem.

3. The engraved caseback and the signed clasp
Turn it over and the caseback carries the Zodiac emblem, “Swiss since 1882”, “200 m tested” and the reference number. The steel bracelet closes with a folding clasp stamped with the Zodiac name and emblem.

Wearing it

Picture a slow weekend by the sea. You check the time on the walk down to the harbor, turn the bezel to time how long you sit over coffee, and later push up a sleeve to see that it is time to head home. At about 34 mm wide and under 10 mm thick, the Sea Wolf is a modest size on the wrist. A white dial and a steel bracelet go with a T-shirt as easily as with a navy jacket.
Its condition when we sold it
In our listing we described the watch as being in excellent overall condition, with no major scratches or defects, and in good working order. These are the points we noted:
- Some patina and paint loss on the hour and minute hands.
- The basic functions operated normally. Daily rate and power reserve were not checked.
- Water resistance was not guaranteed without professional service and a pressure test.
- Sold as the watch only, with no other accessories.
In the close-up photos you can also see fine hairline scratches on the bezel and case.

About Zodiac
Zodiac’s story begins in 1882, when Ariste Calame opened a watchmaking workshop in Le Locle, Switzerland. The brand became known for sport and dive watches, and the Sea Wolf, which first appeared in the 1950s, is one of the early dive watches made for everyday buyers. In 2001 the Zodiac brand was acquired by Fossil.
